WHAT: A conversation with artist Tony Abeyta (Diné) part of the Here, Now and Always Native Narrative Speaker Series.
WHO: Tony Abeyta is a Diné (Navajo) contemporary artist working in mixed media and oil landscape paintings. A graduate of New York University with an honorary doctorate from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. Tony was a recipient of the New Mexico Governor’s Excellence in the Arts award and recognized as a Native Treasure by the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture in 2012.
WHERE: Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, 710 Camino Lejo Santa Fe, NM.
WHEN: Friday, February 16, 1-3 p.m. WHY: The Native Narrative Speaker series frames Native voices and gives the audience an opportunity to learn from world-class artists, scholars, and other experts in their field. This series is funded by Maria and Edward, the Gale Family Foundation.
