Advanced manufacturing expansion coming to Farmington

State-backed expansion expected to generate more than $22 million economic impact

FARMINGTON, N.M. — Colorado-based manufacturer Durango Machining Innovations (DMI) is expanding into Farmington, creating 22 high-wage jobs and supporting the growth of advanced manufacturing in the Four Corners region.

DMI secured a 16-acre property just north of Farmington last July to support the expansion. The project is backed by $250,000 in funding through the Local Economic Development Act (LEDA), the state's primary economic development incentive program, and is projected to generate more than $22 million in total economic impact over 10 years.

“New Mexico is backing companies that are ready to grow in our communities,” said Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Rob Black . “This investment strengthens advanced manufacturing in the Four Corners region and supports high-quality jobs for New Mexicans.”

“This project allows us to grow, innovate and deliver at a new scale,” said Reed Duvall, CFO of Durango Machining Innovations . “We're proud to expand in Farmington and create new opportunities for skilled workers.”

The expansion site includes an existing building that will be renovated for machining operations, along with a new 11,000-square-foot facility to house specialized manufacturing equipment. The project will increase DMI’s production capacity and support a broader range of industrial fabrication and machining services.

As operations ramp up in 2026, DMI will grow its workforce to support equipment installation, testing and full-scale production. The expansion is expected to enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities while creating new opportunities for skilled workers in the region.
