ADVISORY: 2nd Annual Native American Theater Festival brings Native experience to the stage at National Hispanic Cultural Center

In collaboration with Two Worlds , the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) is thrilled to play host to the 2nd Annual Native American Theater Festival, which gives voice to the visions and stories of Native and Indigenous people around the world through performances, shared readings, and much more. The Festival begins this Thursday, April 25.
What: Second Annual Native American Theater Festival. Spanning 10 days, this festival includes five performances of this year's featured play: Beauty Way: Into the Matriarchy . This interactive storytelling and multimedia performance features the narratives, experiences, and cultural history of matriarchal Native, Indigenous, and Chicana Women. Through narration, Spider Woman, a traditional Navajo deity, un-webs the stories of these women who come up against everyday personal struggles, self-identity, and inequality in the world.
Beauty Way: Into the Matriarchy will be accompanied at the festival by several staged readings, conversations, Q&As, talkbacks, remarks, refreshments and more.
Tickets cost $12 for staged readings and $17 theatrical performances. Discounts for both are available for seniors 60 years or older, children 10 and under, and NHCC Foundation members. Learn more at nhccnm.org/events .
Where: Staged readings will be held at the NHCC Wells Fargo Auditorium, theatrical performances will take place in the NHCC Bank of America Theatre.
When: The Festival runs from Thursday, April 25 through Sunday, May 5. A full list of scheduled events is available HERE .
