ADVISORY: Back for a sequel: 2nd Annual National Hispanic Cultural Center �The Power of Our Stories� Film Symposium brings 11 films over four days

Hi Everyone,

After launching in 2023, the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) annual Film Symposium is returning bigger and better in its second year! The 2nd Annual NHCC Film Symposium: The Power of Our Stories, will feature 11 films and guest speakers.

What: The 2nd Annual NHCC Film Symposium: The Power of Our Stories brings together Hispanic, Latinx, Chicano/a, and Indigenous filmmakers, directors, academics, screenwriters, and students for a mix of film screenings and discussions. Films range from full-length, award-winning documentaries to short vignettes, touching on topics like environmental justice, Indigenous food sovereignty, and the power of organized labor.

After many of the screenings, the directors and producers who brought these films to life will participate in panel discussions and question-and-answer sessions.

Where: The NHCC Bank of America Theatre, at 1701 4th Street SW.

When: Wednesday, April 10 through Saturday, April 13.

Why: After a successful debut in 2023, the 2nd Annual NHCC Film Symposium offers an even wider variety of stories to explore, along with extensive panel discussions with the creators behind those stories.
