WHAT: Pottery Demonstration
WHO: Albert Alvidrez (Ysleta del Sur Pueblo) is a former Governor of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo and a respected tribal potter, artist, historian, pottery collector, mentor, leader, and community activist.
WHEN: Wednesday, Jan. 21, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
WHERE: Buchsbaum Gallery of Southwestern Pottery, Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, 710 Camino Lejo, Santa Fe, NM
WHY: This pottery demonstration offers the public a rare opportunity to learn directly from Albert Alvidrez, a former Governor of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo and respected tribal potter, artist, and historian. Through live demonstration and discussion, Alvidrez will share traditional pottery techniques, cultural knowledge, and personal insights that highlight the living legacy of Pueblo pottery and the importance of preserving Indigenous art forms for future generations.
