ADVISORY: Get ready for the 3rd Annual Nakotah LaRance Youth Hoop Dance Championship at Museum of Indian Arts & Culture

Hi Everyone,

Native youth of all ages will come together for the 3rd Annual Nakotah LaRance Youth Hoop Dance Championship at Museum of Indian Arts & Culture. WHAT: The Nakotah LaRance Memorial Youth Hoop Dance Championship is a two-day weekend event that runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and features two days of youth dance competition. This is a free event. On Friday there will be a Hoop Dance Panel Discussion.

WHO: The Lightning Boy Foundation, a non-profit organization founded to honor the life of Valentino ‘Tzigiwhaeno’ Rivera and the legacy of his mentor Nakotah LaRance. The Nakotah LaRance Youth Hoop Dance Championship celebrates the passion Nakotah had for empowering Native youth through dance and culture.

WHERE: Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, 710 Camino Lejo, Santa Fe, NM 87505

WHEN: Panel Discussion: Friday, August 2, 2024, 1-3 p.m. Hoop Dance Championship: Saturday-Sunday, August 3 & 4, 2024, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHY: This event not only showcases the incredible talent and dedication of Native youth but also brings the community together in celebration.
