ADVISORY: Holiday Open House brings the Baumann marionettes and music to the Plaza on December 14

The New Mexico Museum of Art celebrates the holiday season with its annual Holiday Open House. Enjoy an organ concert with Santa Fe Pro Musica, holiday crafts all day, performances by The Santa Fe Symphony Jazz Project and everyone’s favorite holiday marionette performances with Teatro Duende and the Baumann replica marionettes! WHAT: Holiday Open House WHO: New Mexico Museum of Art WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024 SCHEDULE: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Enjoy this beloved kick off to the holiday season with crafts and ornament making in the lobby and adventures to help you explore the artwork in our galleries. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Archives Open House: Baumann and Friends Holiday Cards- Join us in the Museum Library for a view of holiday cards from our archives made by artists such as Gustave Baumann, Will Shuster, Olive Rush and others!

10:30 – 11 a.m. Join us for this holiday tradition as Teatro Duende Presents “A Holiday Party for Pappa Gus” with the Gustave Baumann marionette replicas. This performance will have ASL interpretation.

11-11:30 a.m. Selfies with Santa- Take a picture while Santa (the marionette) sits on your lap!

12-12:30 p.m. Santa Fe Pro Musica presents a free, half-hour organ recital featuring local keyboard extraordinaire David Solem. 1:30-2 p.m. Join us for this holiday tradition as Teatro Duende Presents “A Holiday Party for Pappa Gus” with the Gustave Baumann marionette replicas . 2-2:30 p.m. Selfies with Santa- Take a picture while Santa (the marionette) sits on your lap!

3-4:30 p.m. The Jazz Project of The Santa Fe Symphony Education Program will present a free concert in St. Francis Auditorium. Come listen to some of New Mexico’s most talented young musicians!
