ADVISORY: Last Look- Pao Connections ends its run at the National Hispanic Cultural Center on August 18
Hi Everyone,
Since opening in February, the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s Paño Connections – Corazón Knows No Bounds exhibition has explored artworks created by incarcerated artists. Now, visitors have just a few weeks to explore the dynamic exhibition one last time before it closes on August 18.
What: On display in the NHCC Community Gallery, which showcases work by New Mexico artists, Paño Connections – Corazón Knows No Bounds explores artworks inspired by paños (drawings on handkerchiefs) and other artworks from incarcerated artists.
A closing reception for the exhibition featuring panel discussions, music, refreshments, and more will be held in the Visual Art Museum from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 10.
Who: The exhibition is curated by Eric “Christo” Martinez, a New Mexico artist who became an artist during his time in prison. Martinez’s work sits alongside artworks from 20 other local artists working across a variety of mediums.
Where: NHCC Visual Art Museum, located at 1701 4th Street SW.
When: The exhibition ends its run Sunday, August 18.
Why: After a successful six-month run, Paño Connections is closing to make room for the Visual Art Museum’s next Community Gallery exhibition in September.
Thanks, Stephen
