ADVISORY: National Hispanic Cultural Center D�a de Familia celebrates D�a de los Muertos with family fun
Hi Everyone,
The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) invites families to celebrate Día de los Muertos with a fun, all-ages Día de Familia event on November 2!
What: Día de Familia: Día de los Muertos. Join us for a special day for the whole family commemorating Día de los Muertos traditions. Contribute to our community ofrenda and view ofrendas created by local schools and community organizations. The event kicks off with a free screening of Disney’s Coco (2017) at 10:00 a.m.!
Starting at 11:00 a.m., decorate sugar skulls, craft paper flowers, enjoy face-painting, and sample Pan de Muerte. Enjoy food from local food trucks The Munchie Truck and La Sirenita, and dance and music performances from Voces de Coronado and Ballet Folklórico de Dolores Gonzales.
Please bring a non-returnable photo or item to contribute to our community ofrenda. This is a free community event, please register in advance HERE . This event is generously supported by NM Gas.
Where: Domenici Education Building at NHCC, located at 1701 4th Street SW. The screening of Coco will be held in the Bank of America Theatre.
When: Saturday, Nov. 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The screening of Coco begins at 10:00 a.m.
Why: This special Día de Familia brings Día de los Muertos traditions to New Mexicans of all ages with free activities for the whole family!
