What: Here, Now and Always - Native Narrative Speaker Series Who: Joe Cajero Jr. (Jemez Pueblo) and Althea Cajero (Kewa Pueblo/Acoma) When: Saturday January 24, 2063, 1 – 3 p.m. Where: Kathryn O’Keeffe Theatre, Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, 710 Camino Lejo, Santa Fe, NM Who: Joe Cajero Jr. (Jemez Pueblo) and Althea Cajero (Kewa Pueblo/Acoma) Why: Joe and Althea Cajero were the 2014 Living Treasures for the Native Treasures Art Market. Joe, an IAIA alumni will talk about his work as a sculptor and painter. Althea’s mother was a silversmith, and her father was a lapidary jeweler. Her appreciation for art came from growing up and being around it. Hear about their careers as full-time artists, their support for each other, their inspiration and new opportunities on the horizon.
