Hi Everyone,
Ahead of National Preservation Month, the New Mexico Historic Preservation Division (NMHPD) is thrilled to participate in the upcoming Preserving Place: A Santa Fe Symposium, which aims to bring together the organizations who play a role in preserving the cultural heritage of The City Different.
What: In 2025, Historic Santa Fe Foundation is honored to partner with the New Mexico History Museum and numerous organizations to produce the Preservation Month Symposium — Preserving Place: The Santa Fe Symposium — a Preservation Month preview event that offers a day-long program for the community, various local organizations, and the public relating to the importance and challenges of preservation. During the afternoon session, NMHPD staffers Karla McWilliams, Steven Moffson, and Matt Saionz will chair a panel discussing the department’s role in state and national historic preservation efforts. The presentation is intended as an introduction to NMHPD’s work, and will discuss tax credits, funding options, and levels of historic designation. Who: Other partners in this event include: Historic Santa Fe Foundation, New Mexico History Museum, Old Santa Fe Association, City of Santa Fe Historic Preservation Division, Pueblo of Tesuque, Friends of Architecture, AIA Santa Fe, and Cornerstones Community Partnerships. Where: New Mexico History Museum, 113 Lincoln Ave. When: Saturday, April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Why: It’s an opportunity to learn more about the work of NMHPD while celebrating the organizations that help to preserve Santa Fe’s unique cultural and architectural heritage.
