Hi Everyone,
In collaboration with Opera Southwest, the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) is proud to present the American debut of Doña Clementina , which premieres at the Center on April 6.
What: Luigi Boccherini’s Doña Clementina . Follow the captivating journey of a courageous young woman navigating passion, loyalty, and the trials of family honor, all set to stirring melodies and sung in Spanish. While Boccherini was primarily known for his famous instrumental music, Doña Clementina stands out as his unique foray into the dramatic form of zarzuela. Known for its comedy and light-hearted tone, this zarzuela marks the first collaboration between NHCC and Opera Southwest in this genre in nearly a decade, showcasing a rare gem for New Mexico audiences.
Tickets range from $29 to $109 with discounts for groups of 8 or more, anyone 30 years old and younger and Opera for All with a WIC or EBT card.
Additionally, Opera Southwest will be hosting Taste of Opera – a pre-show dinner and relaxed conversation with Opera Southwest artistic staff members, on Friday, April 11. Taste of Opera sold separately. Learn more and register HERE .
Where: NHCC Albuquerque Journal Theatre, located at 1701 4th St SW.
When: April 6, 11, & 13. Performances begin 2:00 pm both Sundays and 7:30 pm on Friday.
