ADVISORY: The Importance of Our Language and Culture at Museum of Indian Arts & Culture

Join Museum of Indian Arts & Culture for the September installment of the Native Narratives Speaker Series for a discussion on the importance of Native language and culture. WHO: Dr. Christine Sims (Acoma Pueblo) is the Chair of the Indian Advisory Panel for Museum of Indian Arts & Culture. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Studies in the College of Education & Human Sciences at the University of New Mexico (UNM). Dr. Nonabah Sam (Diné/Tesuque Pueblo) serves as adjunct faculty in the School of Fine Arts, teaching Museum Internship. She joined Diné College in January 2012, serving as the college’s Museum Curator for the Ned Hatathli Museum. Darrin Rock (Santa Clara Pueblo) , Darrin has more than thirteen years of experience in tribal government in the areas of realty, business operations, language revitalization, and community outreach. He is currently the Director of Tewa Integration and Partnerships at Kha’p’o Community School in Santa Clara Pueblo.
