ADVISORY: Women�s History Banner Exhibit will open in the Governor�s Gallery in Santa Fe
Opens May 6 inside the State Capitol

What: A new Women’s History Banner Exhibit will open in the Governor’s Gallery in Santa Fe on Monday, May 6. Presented by New Mexico State Library and created by the New Mexico Historic Women Marker Program, this banner exhibit celebrates the women who helped shape New Mexico history. More than a dozen banners share background info and history of women such as Esther Martinez, P’oe Tsáwä, Pablita Velarde Tse Tsan, "Golden Dawn," Soledad Chavez Chacon, Harriet Belle Amsden Sammons, Anita Scott Coleman, and more. The New Mexico Historic Women Marker Program is responsible for numerous roadside markers around New Mexico, and these banners share the stories of the women featured on the markers.
Who: New Mexico State Library
When: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 6 – September 27, 2024
Where: Governor’s Gallery, inside the lobby of the Office of the Governor on the 4th floor of the State Capitol on Old Santa Fe Trail.
Why: The Women’s History Banner Exhibit celebrates some of the many courageous women who helped shape the unique, multicultural history of New Mexico.
