Albuquerque drug and gun bust results in multiple arrests
Albuquerque – A multi-agency operation on Jan. 28 resulted in the arrest of two of New Mexico’s most wanted fugitives, along with the seizure of 16 firearms and narcotics in Bernalillo County.
“This operation highlights the strength and effectiveness of collaboration among local, state, and federal agencies,” said NMCD Cabinet Secretary Alisha Tafoya Lucero. “By pooling our resources and expertise, we were able to arrest these dangerous individuals and removing them from our community.”
Michael Garcia (46) and Eric Edwards (36), both wanted for violent crimes, were successfully apprehended during the initiative. This successful operation resulted from a collaborative effort between multiple law enforcement agencies, including the New Mexico Corrections Department’s Security Threat Intelligence Unit Fugitive Division, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, New Mexico State Police, and the United States Marshals Service.
