National Adult Protective Services conference comes to Albuquerque this September
SANTA FE - The 2024 National Adult Protective Services conference will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center from September 16 through September 18.
This year’s event will bring together professionals from across the country who are dedicated to protecting adults from abuse, neglect and exploitation. The programming will feature a wide range of sessions, workshops and presentations by leading experts in the field of adult protective services, offering valuable opportunities for networking, education and professional development.
“We are honored to have New Mexico chosen as the host location for this year’s conference,” said ALTSD Cabinet Secretary Jen Paul Schroer . “Our state is deeply committed to safeguarding the well-being of our older adults and adults with disabilities, and this conference represents a critical opportunity to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions with our colleagues nationwide.”
Some topics to be covered at the conference include the latest research and policy developments in APS, strategies for improving service delivery, and new approaches to addressing the unique challenges faced by serving this population. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in special sessions focused on the intersection of APS with other sectors, including healthcare, law enforcement, and social services.
“We are looking forward to holding this year’s conference in Albuquerque,” said Jennifer Spoeri, NAPSA’s Executive Director. “This gathering is a unique opportunity for APS professionals to network, share cutting-edge practices, and reinforce our commitment to offer protection to vulnerable adults. We are excited to be in a state that shares NAPSA’s vision.”
The New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD), in collaboration with the National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) are proud to sponsor the event.
