NMCD to launch automotive technology certificate program
Partnership with The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus
LOS LUNAS – The New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD) is proud to announce its partnership with The University of New Mexico (UNM) -Valencia Campus to offer a certificate program in automotive technology. The new program will be available to eligible inmates at the Central New Mexico Correctional Facility (CNMCF).
The automotive technology program aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience to have successful post-incarceration careers as:
Transportation engineers
Automotive engineer technicians
Electro-mechanical technicians
Auto master/service technician mechanics
Upon completion of the program the students will have the opportunity to take the national Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exam.
The program is scheduled to begin in June at CNMCF.
