Christina Campos joins ALTSD Policy Advisory Council
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) is excited to announce the appointment of Christina Campos as a new member of the ALTSD Policy Advisory Committee (PAC). With over three decades of experience in healthcare administration, Campos will bring valuable experience to further the department’s mission of providing accessible and integrated services to older and disabled adults.
“Christina has a remarkable track record of addressing healthcare disparities and advancing innovative solutions for underserved communities,” said Emily Kaltenbach, ALTSD Cabinet Secretary Designate. “Her leadership in rural healthcare and her insight into social determinants of health will be an incredible asset towards advancing our mission to ensure older adults and individuals with disabilities in New Mexico can thrive.”
Campos, a native New Mexican, brings a wealth of experience in a variety of leadership roles, including her most recent position as the administrator for Guadalupe County Hospital. She has also served on national health-related boards to address rural healthcare challenges. Campos earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Latin American Studies and Economics from the University of New Mexico and an MBA in Healthcare Management from Regis University in Denver.
“I am grateful to Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and the other members of the ALTSD Policy Advisory Committee for entrusting me with this important role,” said new PAC member Campos. “As someone deeply committed to improving healthcare access, I am excited to work alongside passionate leaders to support older adults and communities across New Mexico.”
As a PAC member, Campos will participate in the development of recommendations and help raise awareness of the department’s initiatives to better serve New Mexico’s aging and long-term care community. The department looks forward to working with Ms. Campos as she joins the rest of the PAC who are also deeply committed to building a more vibrant, inclusive, and caring New Mexico.

The New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) was established in 2004 to provide advocacy, support, and resources for seniors and adults with disabilities. The department oversees the state’s Area Agencies on Aging to elevate the quality of care at senior centers, offers advocacy through the Long-Term Care Ombudsman volunteer program, and provides intervention through the agency’s national award-winning Adult Protective Services. Additionally, ALTSD houses the state’s Aging and Disability Resource Center, which offers options counseling, education, and connection to resources.
