Don't Miss Film & Media Day!

Action Needed: Support NM Film

From the Director's Desk

We’ve just returned from a highly productive week at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, and the energy surrounding New Mexico’s film industry is buzzing. We met with filmmakers, studio executives, directors, producers, and other decision-makers to promote New Mexico's world-class production ecosystem, built on stability, innovation, and a sophisticated local workforce.

This month, we are celebrating a "cinematic hat trick" with Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Las Cruces all being named among MovieMaker Magazine’s "Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker." This recognition is a testament to the thousands of New Mexicans who have turned a job into a lifelong, high-wage career in a fantastic place to live.

As we look ahead to Film and Media Day at the State Capitol on February 17th, please join us to celebrate and promote New Mexico Film. Make a point of visiting your lawmakers to let them know how important this $1 billion-plus industry is to you and to New Mexico. Whether we are highlighting our Oscar-nominated technical crafts or cheering on the groundbreaking productions like "Pluribus," our goal remains the same: keeping the jobs in New Mexico and the drama on-screen.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. I’ll see you at the Roundhouse.

Show up for Film & Media in New Mexico

Join the New Mexico Film Office, IATSE Local 480, and the entire film community for Film & Media Day at the New Mexico State Capitol in Santa Fe on Tuesday, February 17th, from 8 AM to 2:30 PM.

This is our chance to thank New Mexico legislators for their support of the film and media industry. It's also a great opportunity to network with fellow professionals, explore booths from local businesses and organizations, and enjoy a hair-and-makeup demo.

Film & Media Day is an opportunity for our industry to show up together, thank New Mexico legislators for their continued support, and highlight the people and businesses that power film and media production statewide. Throughout the day, attendees can connect with colleagues, visit booths from local organizations and partners, and take part in demonstrations and informal conversations inside the Roundhouse.

A strong turnout matters. Your presence helps underscore the value of the film and media industry and its role in creating jobs and economic opportunity across New Mexico.

See you at the Capitol!
