HAPPENING TOMORROW: Secretary Kenney to testify before the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works

Secretary to discuss progress, challenges addressing PFAS contamination

WASHINGTON, D.C. — New Mexico Environment Department Cabinet Secretary James Kenney will testify before the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. At the hearing, titled “Examining PFAS as Hazardous Substances,” Secretary Kenney will discuss the State of New Mexico’s leadership in addressing PFAS contamination. Secretary Kenney’s testimony will emphasize the need for commonsense approaches to protect communities while holding polluters, such as the U.S. Department of Defense, accountable with state and federal laws.
