Hi Everyone, Visitors to the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) have just a couple weeks left to explore the figurative artworks created by New Mexico artists that are on view in Rendered Presence: Artistas de Nuevo México before the exhibition ends a successful run on July 27.
What: Rendered Presence: Artistas de Nuevo México explores artworks by artists living and working throughout New Mexico. Many of the artworks are figurative and created on a scale that challenges limited understandings of New Mexican art. In their own way, each artist explores identity and the self, art history, and the expanse of Hispanic, Chicana/o/x, and Latina/o/x contemporary art. On July 20, join us from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. as we celebrate the exhibition with Artist Chisme , led by curator and artist Vicente Telles along with featured artists Vanessa Alvarado, Eric Romero, and Daisy Quezada Ureña. Attendees will have a chance to walk through the exhibit with the artists. Community, artists and NHCC staff will sit and relax in the museum while participating in engaging conversation. The dialog will continue over light refreshments served in the museum courtyard. Where: NHCC Visual Art Museum, located at 1701 4th Street SW. When: Through Sunday, July 27. The Visual Art Museum is open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday through Sunday. Why: After Rendered Presence closes, a new art exhibition featuring artworks by NHCC’s talented staff is slated to open in September!
