New Mexico and GreenPower all-electric bus launch; press conference, deployment, and ride along

LAS VEGAS, N.M. — Monday, September 29, the State of New Mexico joins GreenPower Motor Company to kick off the New Mexico All-Electric, Purpose-Built, Zero-Emission School Bus Pilot Project at two Las Vegas public schools.

Projects like these represent the future of clean energy and are an important step toward a more flexible, diversified, and environmentally sustainable economy. This pilot program offers New Mexico an opportunity to take the lead in the energy transition.

What: Attend the press conference and witness the deploym ent of the Nano BEAST as part of a 2-year joint pilot program. Media are also invited and encouraged to join a ride-along as the first buses are deployed.

Who: Officials from EDD, GreenPower, Las Vegas School Districts, and the City of Las Vegas will be in attendance.

When: Monday, Sept 29, 2025

6:15 am: Deployment at Valley Middle School (Ribera)

10 am: Press conference at City of Las Vegas (Las Vegas), bus rides at 10:30 am

2:50 pm: Deployment at Mike Mateo Sena Elementary School (Sapello)

Where:

Press conference will take place at the Las Vegas NM Railyard, 500 Railroad Ave, Las Vegas (10 am)

Deployment at Valley Middle School , 85 CR-B31A, Ribera (6:15 am)

Deployment at Mike Mateo Sena Elementary School, 12 County Road A1, Sapello (2:50 pm)
