HAPPENING FRIDAY: Senior Day at the Roundhouse SANTA FE – The Aging and Long-Term Services Department will be hosting Senior Day at the Legislature this Friday. The event will feature legislative tours, speakers—including remarks from the Governor—and opportunities for older adults, caregivers, and advocates to get connected with important resources. WHAT: Senior Day 2026 at the Legislature WHEN: Legislative tours begin at 9:00 a.m., programming begins at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13 WHERE: The Rotunda in the New Mexico State Capitol Credentialed members of the media may RSVP to joey.long@altsd.nm.gov Please include the names of those expected to be in attendance.

The New Mexico Aging & Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) was established in 2004 to provide resources, connection and advocacy for seniors and adults with disabilities. The department oversees the state’s Area Agencies on Aging to elevate the quality of care at senior centers, offers advocacy through the Long-Term Care Ombudsman volunteer program, and provides intervention through the agency’s national award-winning Adult Protective Services. Additionally, ALTSD houses the state’s Aging and Disability Resource Center, which offers options counseling, education, and connection to resources.
