HAPPENING MONDAY: New Mexico Teacher of the Year Announcement

LAS CRUCES – Media is invited to attend the New Mexico Public Education Department’s announcement of the 2026 New Mexico Teacher of the Year on Monday, Sept. 29 at East Picacho Elementary School in Las Cruces.

When: Monday, Sept. 29, 2025. Arrive at the front office at 9:30 a.m. for check-in and setup. Announcement will run from 10:30–11:30 a.m.

Where: East Picacho Elementary School, 4450 N Valley Dr, Las Cruces, NM 88007

Check-in: Check in at 9:30 a.m. A representative from the PED will meet media in the front office and escort them to the award announcement location.

Credentialed members of the media may RSVP to janelle.garcia@ped.nm.gov . Please include the names of those expected to be in attendance.
