MEDIA ADVISORY: MONDAY, New Mexico hosts 46th Annual Conference on Aging

MEDIA ADVISORY FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY ALTSD Contact: Joey Long, PhD Public Information Officer Joey.long@altsd.nm.gov October 23, 2024 MONDAY: New Mexico hosts 46th Annual Conference on Aging SANTA FE – Media is invited to join over 500 seniors, providers, and community stakeholders for the 46th Annual Conference on Aging. The conference will be headlined by a keynote address from Erica Wheeler , an award-winning singer, songwriter, and TEDx speaker, known for blending art with advocacy. Gary Glazner, founder of the Alzheimer’s Poetry Project, will also be presenting. In addition to the speakers, there will be interactive workshops throughout the day, an aging resource expo, and indoor and outdoor lounge spaces. The conference will close with a social dance, headlined by local band Vanilla Pop, five-time winner of “Best of Albuquerque,” performing hits from the 60s through the 2000s.
