Lea County launches official film office, anchoring production in Southeastern New Mexico

New Feature Film to be Shot in the County

Hobbs, NM — The Lea County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) , in partnership with Inspirado.tv, will host the Grand Opening of the official Lea County Film Office and the appointment of film liaison Charlene Upton.

This launch solidifies Lea County as a dynamic and film-friendly destination within New Mexico's expanding film landscape. The new office is equipped to support productions of every scale, capitalizing on Lea County's wide-open landscapes, oil fields, rodeo stadiums, and ample lodging. Crucially, the office is partnering with New Mexico Junior College to provide students with hands-on, set experience, directly strengthening local workforce development.
