Parking area closed to vehicle traffic today at Rio Grande Nature Center State Park due to road construction

Visitors must park on Candelaria Road and walk into park grounds

ALBUQUERQUE, NM –Vehicle access to Rio Grande Nature Center State Park is being diverted today due to a road construction project at the end of Candelaria Road in Northwest Albuquerque.

Workers will be conducting what’s called a “micro slurry seal” on the asphalt of several streets within the RGNC neighborhood. This parking lot closure is expected to last until 5:00 PM today.

State Parks officials would like to remind visitors to be respectful of road workers and neighbors during this temporary inconvenience. Please follow instructions on posted construction signs and the heed the speed limit. Do not block driveways, pick up after pets, and don’t walk onto private property.
