TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY: New Mexico School Chef Symposium

ALBUQUERQUE — Media are invited to attend the New Mexico Public Education Department’s New Mexico School Chef Symposium on Oct. 14–15, 2025, at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, where local chefs and school cafeteria staff will collaborate on scratch-cooked, healthy school meals inspired by New Mexico flavors. The event will feature hands-on training sessions ideal for b-roll, showcasing chefs and food service professionals working side by side. As the only state to integrate scratch-cooking and nutrition standards through the Healthy Universal School Meals program, New Mexico continues to lead the nation in school food innovation.

When:

Tuesday, Oct. 14: 8:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.

Keynote remarks by Lt. Governor Howie Morales

Hands-on training sessions, 9:45–10:45 a.m. (Best media opportunity)

Wednesday, Oct. 15: 8:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
