New Mexico Film is Everywhere this Month
From Texas to California: NM Film Takes the Stage
From the Director's Desk
Looking back at our recent Film and Media Day at the Roundhouse on February 17, I was struck by the incredible turnout of talent, crew, and community supporters. Standing alongside event sponsors IATSE Local 480 and hearing from voices like DezBaa’, Brendan Fehr, and Tait Fletcher, it was a reminder that New Mexico isn't just a place where movies are made, it’s a place where world-class careers are built.
As we move into March, The New Mexico Film Office is hard at work to make sure that New Mexico remains at the center of the film and television production universe and New Mexicans can continue to work and contribute to this amazing industry. We will be sponsoring the New Mexico House at SXSW in Austin and meeting with filmmakers, producers, and game developers. We'll meet with studio and production company decision-makers in Los Angeles during Studio Summit. We'll also be rolling out changes in our registration and application systems to continue to improve our "no-drama" production environment. We want to make the process easier so that our filmmakers can focus on their artistry and our communities can focus on growth. Thank you for being part of this journey.

NMFO and TIO Showcase New Mexico's Film and Tech Future
This month, the New Mexico Film Office is heading to the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference in Austin, Texas. In partnership with the Technology and Innovation Office (TIO) and NM Economic Development Department, we will showcase New Mexico's growing creative and technology industries.
On March 16th, the New Mexico House will serve as a global headquarters for filmmakers, developers, and industry leaders. We are incredibly proud to support the premiere of He Bled Neon, shot in New Mexico, and to host a featured panel that explores how we are Constructing Storytelling in the Land of Enchantment. We’re also expanding the narrative by showcasing our growing video game and digital media sectors.

NMFO Sponsors AFCI Studio Summit
The New Mexico Film Office is proud to announce its sponsorship of the upcoming Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) Studio Summit. As a premier sponsor of this executive-level gathering, New Mexico is taking a proactive role in shaping the global production conversation.
The AFCI Studio Summit is a high-impact forum where film commissioners from around the world meet directly with top-tier studio executives, physical production heads, and streaming leaders. Our sponsorship ensures that New Mexico is front and center during these critical business development sessions.
Why this matters for New Mexico: Sponsoring the Studio Summit is about more than brand recognition; it is about securing the next wave of billion-dollar investments for our state. By engaging directly with decision-makers from major studios, we are:
Securing Future Slates: Putting our expanding studio infrastructure and world-class crew base at the top of mind for upcoming multi-year projects.
Highlighting Stability: Reaffirming New Mexico’s status as a stable, predictable, and "no-drama" environment for high-budget productions.
Touting the 40% Incentive: Ensuring every major studio understands the full depth of our financial return and the inclusivity of our digital media and post-production credits.
As the industry continues to evolve, New Mexico remains committed to being a global leader. Our sponsorship of the AFCI Studio Summit is a clear signal to the world's storytellers: New Mexico is open for business, built for scale, and ready for action.
