Letter from the Marketing Coordinator
It is my tremendous honor to be ORD’s new marketing coordinator and I look forward to sharing our work and collaborations with you!
I come to you via a 20+ year career in the nonprofit world—a world where my heart was filled with gratitude for the countless philanthropic ways people worked to improve the lives of others. The creation of, and access to, resources that benefit others inspires me to my core—and hence, ORD’s mission is in alignment with my passions.
My true love for the outdoors began at Philmont Scout Ranch, where I spent two summers building trails while completing my Master of Science in Environmental Economics and soaking up the rich lessons Mother Nature provided. In my career, I’ve advocated for public radio, children and families affected by trauma, and homeless pets—and now I will joyfully champion our state’s outdoor recreation opportunities and economy.
I am ecstatic to join a team of such talented individuals and strong leadership that melds to elevate ORD’s focus of growing access to, and participation in, New Mexico’s diverse outdoor recreation offerings.
Speaking of growing outdoor access, today, January 31, is the deadline for Trails+ Grant submissions. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to enhance outdoor recreation opportunities in your community. We encourage you to view the full details and submit your online application today.

The Ninth-Annual Ski Lift Pitch is a week away
CNM Ingenuity and Platinum Sponsor New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Department are excited to announce the ninth annual Ski Lift Pitch, on February 6 at Taos Ski Valley. This unique event combines the thrill of skiing with the excitement of entrepreneurship and brings together startups and investors for a day of networking and competition.
On the morning of the Ski Lift Pitch, startup founders will ride up the main chairlift at Taos Ski Valley with active investors. During the ride, founders present their business ideas and investors judge the pitch. Then everyone skis or snowboards back down to the base together and repeats three more times.
At the end of the day, the top three startups present their pitch to a larger group of judges and investors and the first-place winner walks away with a $10,000 cash prize!
