Village of Fort Sumner opens new Municipal MVD office
SANTA FE — The Village of Fort Sumner has partnered with the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) to open a new municipal office at 277 E. Ave C, Fort Sumner, NM 88119.
The Fort Sumner MVD officially opened on Monday, Jan.6, and is open Monday through Friday from, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
Currently, the Fort Sumner provides vehicle-related services only, such as registrations and titles. Services for driver transactions, such as driver’s licenses, are not yet available.
To schedule an appointment, visit the MyMVD Online Services page and select “Schedule Appointment.”
Before the office opened, residents in the area had to travel 37 miles away to Melrose or 44 miles to Santa Rosa. For MVD services.
“We are excited to partner with the Village of Fort Sumner to expand services in rural New Mexico,” said Motor Vehicle Division Director Htet Gonzales .
The New Mexico MVD also offers a range of online services, including:
Renewal or replacement of a driver’s license, identification card, vehicle registration. Disability placards. Payment options for tickets, citations, and reinstatement fees.
