NMCD Joins Statewide "Breaking Bad Habits" Anti-Litter Campaign
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD) is proud to announce its active participation in the statewide “Breaking Bad Habits” anti-litter campaign.
“At NMCD, we share in the belief that liter-free communities play a crucial role in enhancing public safety and overall quality of life,” said NMCD Cabinet Secretary Alisha Tafoya Lucero. “We’re proud to take part in this exciting campaign and further demonstrate our commitment to safety and collective stewardship.”
In support of this campaign, NMCD is engaging in a series of clean-up events:
Starting today and continuing through next week, the Probation and Parole Division (PPD) has organized clean-up days at its various offices statewide.
Inmates at all prison facility campuses consistently work to maintain the grounds.
NMCD's inmate work crews, contracted with the New Mexico Department of Transportation, conduct regular clean-up activities in designated locations throughout the state, contributing to the overall cleanliness of public spaces.
Administrative staff at the NMCD Central Office in Santa Fe are actively involved in beautification projects, including the installation of a bird house and the planting of a tree.
