New Mexico Film Office Announces Feature Film “Hello Out There” Filmed in New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM— The New Mexico Film Office announced today that the feature film, “Hello Out There,” filmed in and around Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Alamogordo, and Roswell through July.

"Hello Out There” is directed by Otis Blum and produced by Thomas Mahoney (“Only the Good Survive”). It stars Chloe Bennet (“Agents of Shield”) and Phil Dunster (“Ted Lasso”).

The film follows Minnie, a young journalist sporting a neck brace, and her cousin, fresh out of rehab, as they embark on a road trip across New Mexico. Their stated mission is to investigate Area 51 and unearth the truth about extraterrestrial life. But as the journey unfolds, a deeper, more personal reason for their quest comes to light.

"This is a story about connection,” Blum stated. “How we connect from one individual to another, and from one planet to another. Humans have always looked up at the sky and wondered if anything is looking back. It has been such a joy working with this incredible team, and I'm beyond excited for the world to see what we have built together."

New Mexico's film industry continues to surge, shattering the $1 billion mark in total economic impact for 2024. Total economic impact includes direct production spending within the state, wages earned by cast and crew members, and indirect spending on hotels, restaurants, and countless other New Mexico businesses that support and benefit from the film industry.

The production employed over 150 New Mexicans, including 70 crew members, 10 resident principal actors, and 100 background talents.
