Flood-affected Mora County taxpayers get extension
SANTA FE — Taxpayers affected by recent floods in Mora County have additional time to file personal and business taxes.
The following Taxation and Revenue Department (TRD) extensions apply to individuals and businesses affected by flooding in Mora County. Late filing and payment penalties will be waived, though state law does not allow TRD to waive interest.
What you need to know
For GRT, compensating tax, withholding taxes, oil and gas taxes, combined fuel tax, and other excise taxes
New deadline: November 25, 2025
Original due dates: August 25 and September 25, 2025
Penalty relief: Late filing and payment penalties waived
Interest: Cannot be waived under state law
For income tax (personal and corporate)
New deadline: November 17, 2025
Original due dates: September 15, 2025
Penalty relief: Late filing and payment penalties waived
Interest: Cannot be waived under state law
How to request the extension
Taxpayers must notify TRD by letter or email that they qualify as affected taxpayers and provide supporting documentation. This can be done before filing or after receiving a notice for late payment penalties and interest.
