The New Mexico Semi-Quincentennial Commission today announced the official launch of "NM 1776," a statewide initiative to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States of America. This unique commemoration will connect a national moment to New Mexico's rich history, encouraging an exploration of the core principles of democracy in today's world through a uniquely New Mexican lens.
