Santa Fe, NM – The New Mexico State Historic Preservation Division is pleased to announce that it has launched a new digital tool to make it easier than ever for users to submit vital information for projects that advance New Mexico’s cultural legacy. Earlier this year, the Historic Preservation Division (NMHPD) launched a public portal for the submission of all projects and applications needing review. These forms include everything from consultation letters, to permit and tax credit application forms, and even nominations for the State and National Registers of Historic Places. “This new public portal streamlines the review process for the public and NMHPD staff, making it simple to submit a project or application and upload supplementary documents and staff responses,” said State Historic Preservation Officer Michelle Ensey. Instead of sending information via multiple emails, users can simply fill out a one-page automated form. The public portal will provide an automated email receipt and an HPD log number. HPD responses and requests for additional information will be sent via communication within the public portal. The portal is part of HPD’s New Mexico Cultural Resource Information System (NMCRIS) but even non-users of NMCRIS can access the portal.
