Urgent call for child care volunteers in Ruidoso
The recent wildfires in Ruidoso have created an urgent need for additional child care support. The New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) is committed to supporting families impacted by these wildfires. Child care services are provided free of charge to evacuees through the Child Care Assistance program.
How to Volunteer:
Call the ECECD Hotline : 1-800-832-1321 to identify child care centers in need of volunteers.
Select a Volunteer Location : Visit a local child care center for volunteer opportunities.
Get a Background Check : Visit Licensed Child Care Centers and Out of School Programs to get a free background check from ECECD.
Expedite Your Background Check : Contact Heidee Hodges, ECECD Background Check Unit Supervisor, at 505-487-0486 or email heidee.hodges@ececd.nm.gov . Let her know which Ruidoso child care center you are volunteering at.

Los recientes incendios forestales en Ruidoso, Nuevo México, han dado lugar a una necesidad urgente de apoyo para el cuidado infantil. El Departamento de Educación y Cuidado en la Primera Infancia (Early Childhood Education and Care Department, ECECD) de Nuevo México tiene el compromiso de apoyar a las familias afectadas por estos incendios forestales. Se ofrece servicio de cuidado infantil sin costo a las personas evacuadas a través del programa de Ayuda para el cuidado infantil.
